1.Introductions of TIANJIN UNIVERSITY and International student Education

TianjinUniversity is the first university in modern China, it is also one of the key universities directly under the Ministry of Education. Over one hundred years of history, the university has formed a distinct academic style, which takes engineering as the core, combining with science, and subjects of management, economy, literature, philosophy, pedagogy and teaching Chinese as a foreign language helps to make the whole an integrative development. A complex educational system consisting of bachelor, the master and doctor has been established in this university and famous for its academic spirit of “Rigorous Scholarship, Rigid Discipline”. There are 51 bachelor’s specialties, 124 Master Degree programs and 81 Doctoral programs in this university, 1600 teachers are professors and associate professors, and among whom there are 10 academicians of CAS and CAE, over 300 doctor’s mentor, and over 900 master’s mentor. Now more than 26000 students in the university and of which over 8600 are postgraduates.

International student Education

TianjinUniversity began to take in international students from 1954, it is one of the earliest universities whom take in international students in China. Up to now it has accepted more than 5000 international students of different levels from over 80 countries and areas in Asia, Africa, Europe, North America, South America and Oceania.

International students can be accepted to study every specialty, including short-term and long-term Chinese language courses, specialties for bachelors, masters, and doctors at this university. At present, many international students are accepted by the specialty of Business Administration, Economy & Management, law, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science & Engineering, Mechanic Engineering, English Computer and Architecture etc. They gained high praise for their knowledge and ability in their occupations, and they also made a great contribution to their countries’ development. In the field of international student education, Tianjin University has established long cooperation relationship with more than 40 colleges and institutions of Korea, Japan, USA, UK, France, Germany, Thailand, Vietnam, Russia, Indonesia and other 20 countries. At present, more than 1000 international students from over 30 countries and areas are studying at the university each year.

2.Placement of courses for Undergraduate Education of Chinese Language

According to the contents, the professional course is divided into Integrated Chinese Skills , professional skills, language knowledge, the Chinese humanitiesknowledge , physical education, computer lesson etc..

The type of courses include scholastic public required course(namely A lesson in the below table), professional required course(namely B lesson in the below table), professional elective(namely C lesson in the below table ), the cultural elective .( namely D lesson in the below table)
